AI tutor and exam coach
Qalam’s AI tutor answers a question from the student’s own textbook page and lesson, and past exam questions link back to the lesson that teaches them.
Qalam learning content can work offline where supported. Financed tablets may periodically require internet connectivity for payment and device authorisation.
What is already on it when you receive it
We do not hand over a tablet until all three of these have been opened and tested on that exact device with the network switched off.
The lessons
Every video lesson for your child’s grade, stored on the tablet and encrypted so the files cannot be copied off it.
The textbook
The pages of the printed book, scanned and lined up with the video, so the book turns itself to the page the teacher is on.
The quizzes
Practice questions for each lesson, stored on the tablet and answerable with the network off — a quiz button that does nothing is the fault we test hardest for.
What the child actually sees
The tablet runs the same Qalam app used by 168,081 registered learners, loaded with your child’s own grade.

The parent submits their name, phone, the student’s class, the school and where they live.

After approval the parent makes the 20% initial payment.

The tablet is prepared with the student’s own Qalam class.

The parent pays about $26.67 a month for six months.

Does it need internet?
Content that has been prepared on the tablet can be used without internet. Some synchronisation and services still need a connection from time to time, and a financed tablet may periodically require internet for payment and device authorisation.
What happens if an instalment is missed?
Instalment customers are covered by the financing agreement and its device-management terms. An overdue payment may temporarily restrict the financed device until the payment is resolved.

What happens when I have paid everything?
After the financing agreement is completed, the financing-related restrictions on the device are removed in accordance with the agreement.
